Energy mapping for re-entry weeks

Hours on a contract are not the same as hours you can spend thinking clearly. Energy maps make that difference visible before negotiations begin.

Draw seven columns

Label Monday through Sunday. For each day, mark morning, midday, and evening as high, medium, or low — based on caregiving, commute, medication schedules, or simply how your body has behaved during leave.

Protect two high blocks

Those become your non-negotiable focus windows. Everything else is flexible. When a manager proposes wall-to-wall meetings, you can point to the map instead of inventing excuses in the moment.

Update after week two

Your first guess will be wrong somewhere. Treat the map as a living draft. In Return Roadmap Intensive, we revise it during the first live review call once real work has returned.
